if it fits use it. if your just covering the box spring a fitted bottom sheet shud work just as well and u cud coordinate it more with yr bedding or room. good luck

This is to LILI the girl above... That is the stupidest thing i have ever heard.If you studied the parents that have lost a child to SIDS you would find that most of them are loving caring people who just had something tragic happen to them by losing their child. Just because you cant prove why SIDS happens does not mean that the parents killed their baby. They have studies that can prove if the child died because of suffocation. Which means that SIDS cases are not because of a child getting suffocated in their blankets or by a pillow. It made me sick to my stomach to read that. Heaven forbid that you loose a child to SIDS and someone accuse/think that you killed them. I think SIDS is gods way of taking a child home with out any explanation at all. Oh and not to scare or worry any mothers out there but SIDS is the number one death in infants one month to one year old, and claims the lives of about 3,000 babies each year in the United States alone.

4. Any benefit to washing mattress cover and sheets in long "heavy duty" cycle?

its tedious I know but its a necessity. To get rid of all those darn bed mites and bed bugs- this cycle is required for mattresses esp the thick ones. Then you will have to dry them at high at that. If you use regular cycle and it does not clean enough - when it dries it will smell like vinegar or something worse. .. pickled something.

a needle and thread darning is what it is called. dental floss is a strong substitution to household thread. you will need a needle threader to thread the needle with it. it works great on furniture repairs (fabrics). if it is a dark color you will have to use regular thread for a match. you could use an iron on patch if sewing is not an option. you will find them in the sewing of hobby section at walmart. you could darn then use iron on patch for added strength. darning should be most effective. it is easy and someone in the store should be able to explain it to you.

i dont.... we bought a vinyl covered mattress, so any accidents are easily wiped off with a cloth

As far as I know the answer is No. But i would assume that you could take two sheets of whatever size mattress the eggshell goes on top of we will say its a twin. Steps: 1.) put down one sheet. 2.)put eggshell thingy on top of the sheet. 3.) lay the second sheet on top of the eggshell thing. 4.) safety pin the sheets together to make a case around the eggshell thingy.

Strip the bedding off and if you can wash it, the sheets and mattress cover at least. The comforter may need to be dry cleaned. Take a box of baking soda spread on the wet area to absorb the wetness and odor. Later today after the baking soda drys brush it off (broom and dust pan) and vacuum the mattress
