I think some of the reluctance to the permanent cloth napkin switch comes from perception. Cloth napkins feel fancy, like something that should only come out when there's company or a special occasion. And they seem like a lot of work: all that washing and folding and for the neatniks among us—gasp— ironing.

Typically, and certainly in NY, but I do not know where you are, the most recent employer "pays" UI, and if the employee quit they may not be eligible for it anyway. Do NOT resign your present job before you hold a signed offer letter in your hand. In case the company do not provide you with a proper visa while you are in India you are in the same situation as an employer who applied for a visa but the employee does not show up. You in India can not file any case in the UAE like an employer can not file a case in India. Why do not you have your visa transferred? Pay your loan off with your end of service benefit . That way you wo not be blacklisted in case your visa processing will take a bit longer than expected. edit: these days it's not uncommon for companies to run into some problems obtaining a new visa if not all new set requirements are fulfilled.
