Does fiberglass/glass fibers cause lung cancer? My "bed-in-a-box" unbeknownst to me had an inner layer made of "100% glass fibers".

I am not an industrial hygienist.Back when we were first learning how to abate asbestos on construction projects, there was some concern that fiberglass would be "the next asbestos". That has not been borne out. Asbestos has very tiny, barbed fibers that become embedded in lung tissue. Fiberglass fibers appear to be larger and not barbed, and they do not grab in the same way. Fiberglass definitely can be itchy on your skin, and it is fibrous so we advise using a mask when installing insulation. But, if fiberglass were a known health danger, your bed-in-a-box would not be arriving on your doorstep. It would be installed by a trained installer wearing protective gear. How do you get a 4 yr old twin to sleep alone, sneaks into bed with us and other sibs. I need it to stop.?

First of all, do not let him sneak into bed with you. As soon as he does, walk him back to his own bed. He will realize that it's not going to work. The only thing I could think of, might cause you a bit of sleep but may pay off... check on him several times a night. If he's in anothers bed, remove him and put him back in his own bed, being stern and telling him that he needs to stay in his own bed... hopefully after a while, he gets used to it.

The safest, most durable toddler bed?

None of the above. Toddlers beds are a silly idea, try a twin bed with no frills (maybe some fancy character sheets) instead then you will just skip the transition to a bigger bed once again. Get a bedrail for safety. Or, just put the crib mattress on the floor and forget about the rest

LOL.... sorry for laughing but the visual is funny! You need to nip this in the bud and establish yourself as the Alpha Dog so it does not happen again. Start by not letting your dog on the bed. I know it's hard because most of us dog people like to cuddle with our pups.... but keeping them on their own bed on the floor establishes you in the dominance position ..... and keeps your sheets free from all the dirt and dog dander they drag into bed with them (not to mention pee-free). The child will be fine in a normal twin bed. Personally I think toddler beds are a waste of money...the kid can take a spill out of a bed and be just fine, unless of course it's a tall bunk bed.

It will cover more than plenty, hangs down outside of your twin bed. Before comforters, they have bedspread, that covers the entire bed. It should be OK.

I think Orvis makes a dog bed with orthopaedic foam. We had to get this for our dog when she had knee surgery because her old bed was too hard for her to get into. She had a huge problem with lifting her legs high up because it was so squishy. Basically I would try to look for a dog bed that does not sink in too much just because it's harder for some dogs with joint/hip problems to get into and out of. I am not sure in how far it goes in actually helping with the pain though, other than making it less strenuous on them when they are getting in and out

we have been through this also. its a pain. some suggestions I have (and ones I have heard from other parents): 1. Child Safety Gate: she will hate it for a night or two then learn. then take it down and after that it can be used as a 'threat' or 'punishment' if she gets out of her room 2. Some parents put a lock on the outside of the room. i know its sounds horrible but hopefully after a few nights you wont have to actually lock it, she will just learn to be comfortable sleeping with the door closed. 3. Make sure you have a set bedtime routine.Example: Same time, brush teeth, read 2 books, sing 2 songs (we always end with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star that way he knows its time to sleep) 4. Sometimes you may have to make he go back to bed all by herself. This way she isnt getting the luxury of having mommy or daddy tuck her in again. I hope it gets better for you soon. Keep in mind it is a stage and we gotta realize that sooner or later they gotta be in big girl beds. I mean we would all put teenagers in cribs if we could!
