5. When you use a duvet cover , wont the conforter overlap and roll up inside?

Duvet cover just means a case (like a pillow case for your duvet/comforter/blanket). Now, make sure the fabric you are using is normal sheet fabric of 100% cotton or linen or anything that can breathe naturally. Also, make sure it is not too small. IF your cover is a bit larger than the comforter, it helps (say 1-2" on width and 1-2" on length) to consider the bulk. Also, pre-wash it so it shrinks before you sew it. Otherwise, you could make it longer to anticipate shrinkage factor. Remember fabric shrinks from length only. Now, this should be enough consideration for a great fit and is enough to make sure it would not roll all over the place. however, you could add by doing this: sew big coat buttons on each corner of your comforter and then sew 4 tabs on the inside of the cover 4 corners. These tabs will have button holes in them and you will button the comforter up to the cover and it is there until the next was.

I prefer the more tailored look of the buttoned-down flap in a contrasting, but complimentary color with large decorative buttons. When making the bed, place the button side down at the top so when you turn it back with the top sheet, it creates a finished look. You can also make custom shams using the same concept. I turn mine inside out to clean so as not to catch the buttons on anything. Good luck with yours!

Ok. What you already have is warm toned, that's a plus. Here's a thought: tomato red throw carpet next to bed, and duvet cover in same color, oh and throw pillows!! (look for fabric and do it yourself if you can not find them after searching online. personally I would go with a 30's 40's style lamp with a gold shade. walls--shop for misc pictures like those shown (do I smell a trip to the antique mall!!)
