By plucking, do you mean she pulls out feathers? Probably because she discovered that if she does, she will find fun toys to play with! : D Vicky - Hehe, yeah, my older kitty kneads...it's adorable. She likes it particularly on this one blanket I have, and she can go on and on forever! I like when she does it when the blanket is in my lap or next to me, it's cute : )
1. What is the difference between a duvet, a duvet cover, and a comforter?
A duvet is a feather, cotton, or wool filled sack used as a blanket on a bed. It's a european bedding item which has become very popular in the USA. A duvet cover is a buttoned or zippered decorative bag which many people use to keep their duvets clean. A comforter generally is very similar to a duvet, except it's generally not contained in a cover like a duvet. Comforters are usually 3 layers; bottom sheet, filling, top sheet, and they are quilted or tied together and bound around the edges.
2. Can I buy a Duvet cover that is 86X86 for a down comforter that is 90X90?
Duvet covers are probably only going to come in the standard sizes. Has the comforter been washed before? It could have shrunk. Even if all you can find is a 90 x 90 cover more than likely it will shrink as most do.
3. Which duvet cover should i get?
They are both very nice. I think I would go for the one from Pottery Barn. But, if this is a room that you share with your husband, then I would go for the one from Urban Outfitters.
4. How is the Gravity Blanket and duvet cover held together? How do I put my duvet cover on my blanket?
The 1st and 2nd Generation Gravity Blankets have ties and buttons that connect the duvet cover to the inner weighted blanket and our 3rd Generation Blankets have been updated with our zipper fastening system. When you receive your blanket, we recommend checking that the blanket is securely fastened to the duvet cover. Your duvet cover zipper can be found hidden near one of the corners of the Gravity Blanket on the longer side of the product. To attach or detach the duvet cover for 1st and 2nd Generation Blankets: Step 1: Locate your zipper, which can be found along the seam of the longer side of your blanket. Step 2: Line your ties and buttons up with your blanket. If your ties on your new duvet cover do not totally match up to your blanket, that's ok! There are many different iterations of the blanket and covers, so the ties do not always totally match up. As long as your ties align in the corners and in the middle of the longer sides, your duvet cover is compatible. Step 3: Slip your blanket buttons into the slotted elastic of the duvet cover. It works best when you pull the elastic to widen the slot for the button. Step 4: Reinforce the bond with your ties. The ties can be found paired with the elastic on the duvet cover. Step 5: Once all of your ties are secure, zip up your duvet cover and enjoy a well deserved snooze! To attach or detach the duvet cover for 3rd Generation blankets: First locate the zipper on the duvet cover, which can be found along the seam of the longer side of your blanket. Once unzipped, you will have access to the internal zippers that attach the weighted inner and cover. Simply zip to attach or unzip to detach the two pieces.
5. Can I just stuff my old comforter into a new duvet cover?
As long as they are the same size, you can stuff. If the pattern shows through, you may need to replace it
6. How do I get rid of the smell of duck from my duck down duvet cover?
if it still smells this bad ? Then return it if you have not been able to use it They will exchange it if they think it smells too It should not smell at all once opened and aired
7. Where can I find info on how to make a bedspread or duvet cover?
Try using 2 flat sheets! use 2 inch ribon and tie them together or make button holes and sew on buttons to keep the duvet closed. I would use 300 count sheets or higher for a nice soft duvet :o) Hope this helps Lauren
