Hotel Linen Storage Standards – Preventing Mold, Moisture & Yellowing
Poor storage causes 15% of premature linen write-offs (British Linen Supply Association, 2023). Follow the “Five Prevention Principles”:
1.Moisture-proof: Keep RH at 50–60%, install hygrometers, alarm at >65%
2.Mold-proof: Avoid wooden shelves (mold-prone); use stainless steel mesh racks (>80% airflow)
3.Yellowing prevention: Block UV exposure; use LED cold light (<4000K)
4.Crush prevention: Stack height ≤1.5m to avoid deformation
5.Pest control: Avoid naphthalene (carcinogenic); use silica gel + ultrasonic repellents
