I feel the same way.Its not necessary at all. A sheet and a blanket are fine. The rest is for decorations. I was looking through sears catalogue and they have bedding that cost as much as $229.99 and the lowest one was $89.97. When I had my daughter(15 years ago) I do not remember things being so expensive. I am sure Walmart will have a set that is much cheaper then Sears.

Pictures or plaster cast of his foot and handprint. There are trains, cars etc made of quilted cloth and they would bring in bright colors, as the brown and blue alone are a little sophisticated for a baby's room. Also, I would paint the walls a VERY pale yellow

It depends on what you mean by a good price? However, I have found places like Walmart, Kmart, Kohls, JC Penny Homestore, Burlington Coat Factory and even Big Lots to be very good places for inexpensive yet good quality sets

The bedding set you asked about is a duvet cover and two pillow shams. I guess it depends on where you live and the temperature you like for your bedroom, but a duvet cover holds your sheets and blankets to make bed-making easier. Do you "dress" your bed heavily in summer? I just use a top sheet and a light blanket, so I would not want the added weight of a duvet cover. It's a good neutral color and the thread count is good - 300 TC. I like the flanged pillow shams, but again, I would not sleep on these. To me, they are for "show" only. I stack my pillow shams and throw pillows on the floor at night and sleep on pillows in pillow cases. I am not sure what you are asking, but for summer, I am not sure you want a duvet set?? Sorry.

I like the second one as well. We are having a boy too and are getting the JJ Cole Blue Bullseye/Bubbles crib bedding and a really cute dinosaur mobile. We are not going with a dinosaur theme at all, but my son picked it out of the hat for his part in decorating his brother's room. Small tip... try Amazon to see if you can get your bedding cheaper. Plus, do goggle searches for the website you do plan on buying your bedding at. Goggle your choice as well to see if any other sites have it cheaper then the first site you saw it on.
