The CWC wet hair washing system does tend to work extremely well for people with naturally dry to very dry hair which has been damaged by chemicals (hair color, relaxers, straighteners and/or perms). It also works well with people who have long to very long hair since the longer the hair the more prone to damage it may be.Listed below are the general steps for performing CWC wet hair washing:The CWC wet hair washing system works best when you customize the system with the products you know work best for your hair type, texture and condition. Get hair completely doused with water. nnNote: If you prefer, pre-fill clean plastic jugs with lukewarm water and pour over the top of the hair to get it exceptionally wet. Apply a rinse out style conditioner from 1″ below the root line down to the ends. Make sure to completely coat the entire head with conditioner before adding any type of shampoo. nnThe goal of CWC is to protect hair from the damages shampoo may cause. nnNote: Some people with extremely dry or damage hair will coat hair from the roots on down to the ends. In other cases people will apply the conditioner to the hair before they get hair wet.nnThe proper application of conditioner is truly a personal preference. Once the hair is completely coated with a conditioner pour a quarter size of hydrating shampoo into the palms of your hands. nnAdd water and then massage to form a suds. Pat the suds along the roots. Use the water from the shower head to direct a gentle flow of the suds down the length of the hair. nnIf you prefer you can use a no-poo, lo-poo or a diluted shampoo formula to drizzle over the top of the head. nnNote: A diluted shampoo formula might include 1/8th teaspoon of hydrating shampoo mixed in a quart of lukewarm water and shaken to form a suds.Once hair has been gently covered with shampoo suds, use hands to gently pat the suds into the hair and gently swish to make sure all of the hair has been covered. Rinse all of the shampoo suds out of the hair completely. You may need to rinse more than once to remove all the shampoo suds from the hair.Once hair has been completely rinsed, perform an accordion squeeze by separating hair into individual sections. Using the fingertips gently squeeze hair from roots down to the ends to remove excess water.Once all excess water has been gently removed, apply a second application of rinse-out conditioner to the hair either from the roots or 1 inch from the roots down to the ends.Allow the rinse out conditioner to remain on the hair. Gently separate hair into individual sections. Use a wide tooth comb and detangle hair working from the ends up to the roots. Remember that hair is most fragile when wet so be very gentle and don't rush. Once the hair has been completely conditioned and detangled, rinse well with lukewarm water.Perform one more accordion squeeze to gently remove excess water.Blot hair to remove excess water. Use a hair shamy, 100% clean cotton cloth or special microfiber towel to protect hair from snags. Separate hair into individual sections and detangle from the ends to the roots. Remember that hair is very fragile when damp. Use special care.Apply a leave-in styling cocktail with includes, but is not limited to a leave-in conditioner, styling cream and/or mousse and a heat protection product. When possible air dry hair to avoid heat damage. Or if you prefer to use a blow dryer, use one set on the coolest and slowest temperatures. Or sit under a hood or bonnet set on the coolest and slowest temps. With CWC, the point of the first conditioner is to coat the length of the hair so the shampoo doesn't strip it as much. You don't rinse the conditioner out before you shampoo.Image Of Thick Naturally Wavy Long Hair Which Would Benefit From CWC Wet Washing - Image Courtesy Of Hairboutique - All Rights ReservedMost people seem to apply the conditioner from the ears down so the roots get the full strength of the shampoo, but I know some people apply conditioner all the way up to the roots (I do this; mostly I want to shampoo my scalp but my hair does still get clean. )As you apply the shampoo the suds flowing down the length of the hair will remove a lot of the conditioner, which is why you condition again to get the full benefit.I personally use the same conditioner for both conditioning steps, but some people don't. Some people prefer to use an inexpensive conditioner to coat the hair before applying shampoo and use a much thicker conditioner for the rinse out step. Not all people will use a leave-in conditioner after the wet wash. My own hair is extremely long, naturally dry and naturally wavy with loose curls throughout the perimeter.Best wishes to all."I neither sell nor promote any companies, their products, nor do I have any online shopping outlet of my own to promote.
